Theme: Heroes Around Me

Categories accepted: Visual Arts, Photography and Literature

For all categories, NO identifying information is allowed on the artwork, for example, name, personal picture, etc.


Visual Arts:

Fine and design art is accepted, including but not limited to: architectural drawing and models, ceramics, collage, computer generated images and graphics, crafts, drawings, fashion clothes and jewelry, fiber work, mixed media, painting, printmaking and sculpture.


2D works must be:

  • mounted on sturdy material

  • no larger than 24 x 30 inches with matting

  • framed entry not accepted

  • include one digital image of art work with your admission


3D works must:

  • include 3 digital images of artwork at different angles



Accepted forms of fiction and nonfiction include: prose, poetry, reflective essay, screen play and play script, narrative, and short story.  Entrants may write in their primary language as long as an interpretive English translation is also attached. Use of copyrighted material is prohibited.


Writing guidelines:

  • must not exceed 2000 words

  • may be handwritten or typed

  • single-sided print on 8 1/2 x 11 inches paper

  • PDF file



Photo must be a single print/digital image. Collages and collections of photos are NOT accepted. Entrant must be the photographer and ma use a variety of digital editing techniques including but not limited to multiple exposure, negative sandwich and photogram.


Print guidelines:

  • must be no smaller and 3 x 5" and no larger than 8 x 10 inches

  • accepted print formats: mounted on a mat or poster board no larger than 11 x 14 inches

  • framed prints are not accepted


For digital image:

  • dimensions must be at least 640 x 960 pixels and 300dpi resolution

  • accepted file formats: JPEG, JPG, GIF and PNG
